THAILAND – In summer 2013, I spent a month living in and exploring the beautiful country of Thailand. After beginning the trip with a few days in central Thailand, I went to the beautiful islands in the south to SCUBA dive for a week among the colorful tropical fish and coral reefs. After a long train ride to the far north of the country, I spent the next two weeks exploring the area around Thailand’s second largest city, Chiang Mai, rock climbing, rafting, kayaking, and getting to know the country, its unique traditional customs, amazing food, and even a little of the language. For the last week of the trip, I worked as a volunteer at Elephant Nature Park, an elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai Province that specializes in rescuing and rehabilitating hurt and abused elephants from around the country. This is a gallery of some of the images from my trip I felt most represented the natural beauty of Thailand, a country overflowing with it.
